The story
Article 1 provides for redenomination on 1 July 2005 at 10, 000 old lei per new leu. [1]
The 1831–1832 Organic Regulations recognized leu accounting. The 1867 reform decimalized and rescaled it: one new leu equalled two old lei and 28 parale. [2]
