The story
The first dinar issue entered circulation on 1 April 1961, replacing what the issuer calls the Indian rupee, under Currency Law/Amiri Decree 41 of 1960. [1]
Turning points
Territorial currency replacement
Kuwait’s dinar replaced the circulating Gulf rupee. CBK calls the predecessor Indian rupee; Bundesbank identifies the external Gulf issue. One rupee converted to 0.075 dinar; inverse is not rounded. [2]
