The story
The BRH history dates a first paper issue of 300, 000 gourdes to May 1813. [1]
The 27 June 1811 law retained the existing piastre-gourde valuation while prescribing local alteration of circulating pieces. Association with the national gourde is a qualified continuity observation, not a currency birth from piercing coins. [2]
Turning points
Account-unit observation
The 6 July 1813 finance circular assessed export duties in gourdes and centimes, documenting national public accounting. [3]
