The story
The metical replaced the escudo circulating in Mozambique in June 1980. [1]
Add Mozambique’s statutory public/private account-system anchor effective January 1, 1914; include earlier real reckoning as an internal pre-1914 phase where independently evidenced. Do not split the unit solely at real-to-escudo rescaling. [2]
