The story
The 1962 Korean reform replaced the hwan account unit with the won; some hwan coins remained valid at their converted value. [1]
The hwan was used from the 15February 1953 reform, earlier than its current 1962-only anchor. [2]
Act 1088 explicitly made won the unit of account from 10June 1962, at1won:10hwan, regulating outstanding hwan-denominated debts and deposits. [3]
