The story
Newfoundland’s 1863 decimal law took effect in 1865; its currency was aligned with Canada in 1895. [1]
Newfoundland aligned its dollar with Canada’s in 1895; parity is not proof that its local coinage ended. [2]
Newfoundland’s last coins were minted in 1947; Canadian notes and coins circulated at par before its 1949 entry into Canada. [3]
